Rain Gutter Drip Noise

It didn t involve rain gutters but it probably should have.

Gutter downspouts with elbows can sometimes amplify the sound of water dripping through them. For those who can not stand the irritating sound of water dripping from the gutters regardless how soft or loud it is there are some great solutions to change the rainy season back to a time of peace and tranquillity again. The water was leaking out there and dripping down on the outward curve at the bottom. If the gutter is close to a bedroom window this can get annoying.

When i filled the gutter with water i found a leak at the top of the downspout where the water starts down from the gutter. Thankfully there are some tricks to dampening this nerve grating sound. If you have a window near your gutters and downspouts the persistent clunk clunk clunk or thud thud thud of rain hitting metal may wake you up rather than help you drift to dreamland. Surely not every gutter is as noisy as yours.

Your gutters have a clog. The dripping sound was maddening. For some of us the dripping sound of gutters is no bother at all while for some of us it closely resembles chinese water torture. The gutter drains are right outside my bedroom and the living room so getting away from these areas is not an option.

Having had two others i knew that it was this particular downspout. So why do your downspouts in particular sound like a toddler with a cowbell. Contractors have tried fixes like installing a lead plate in the elbow then a magnetic cushioned plate but those fixes usually just change the tone from a metallic drip drip drip to a thud thud thud sound. It is really loud and is driving me crazy.

Adjust the downspout angle. This product takes away the drip drip noise in your downspout as the falling water hits the elbow.
